A hurricane lantern swaying in the ocean breeze

His hut was made of old abandoned longboards
Sand and shells spread all over the floor
A picture of a tanned young girl hanging on the door
A letter sealed with a kiss sometime before the war

Firelight starlight drifts on by
Moonlight tonight when you close your eyes

A light in the distance to set your bearings by
A star in the heavens on a warm and cloudless night

Some nights it’s the rhythm of the sea
The wind blowing softly through the trees
Rain falling heavy on an old tin roof
The fading sound of laughter from a smoke filled room
